After the Dew Tour in Cleveland, I decided to hop in with a group of guys going on a filming roadtrip. The plan was to ride parks, trails, and some street on our way to New Jersey. We were going to film the whole thing and use the footage for "End Search". A video being produced by Josh Harrington and Tony Ennis. The crew consisted of Rob Darden, Dave Dillewaard, Will Love, Ty Morrow, Garrett Reynolds, and filmer/rider Terrel Gordy (Teo).
So the sunday after the Dew Tour we picked up two mini vans, and started the process of waking everyone up and trying to get organized to get on the road. After we got everyone together and motivated we went and road downtown Cleveland for the afternoon. Darden did some good stuff as well as Garrett. Street isn't really my favorite thing to ride so I took on the roll of filmer and made myself useful.
Once we had our fill of Cleveland we loaded up the vans and headed to Columbus... home of The Flow Skatepark. I had something that I really wanted to do at this park, and had been sweating it pretty hard for the past month or so. We got in town late and got a hotel room for the night. Sleeping arrangements were tight, but we made due. First thing in the morning we head to the park and I start getting warmed up for what could be a banger in my video section. To make a long story short, I ended up slamming so hard that my shoe blew off my foot, I had to sit the rest of the session out with a sore and swollen knee... no bueno.
The next stop was Pittsburgh, and it was going to be another late night arrival for us. Lucky for us, Chris Doyle invited us to stay with him and his girl for the night. Which was nice because it meant plenty of room for sleeping and no check out time. He waited up for us, and around 1:30 am when we arrived, we all said hello and then goodnight. Doyle was especially tired and groggy since he had hurt his jaw over the weekend and had just got his jaw wired shut earlier that day.
The next morning consisted of wireless internet surfing, ping pong matches, and overall laziness, which was completely fine since it was raining anyhow. We definitley got a late start, eventually (around 5pm) we got out of the house and went and rode a small but super fun park. After that we started to make our way down the highway toward New Jersey. Another long drive and an even later arrival found us at Garrett Reynold's house. We scrambled out of the vans and into the house to find places to sleep, fast.
The next two days consisted of riding trails and street, filming as much as we could. The last day at Adam Aloise's trails was amazing. The trails were running perfect and so much good stuff went down Keep an eye out for "End Search". So many good riders and sections. Its gonna be a banger of a video!
